How it all started...

The first Sunday sermon for FBC Holt took place on March 16th, 1884. The sermon was on Luke 12:32, "Fear not little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom." Through the years the flock may have been small, but God's blessings have been large.

The original building still serves as the main sanctuary. As the church grew, a basement was added underneath the original structure. Later, two more structures were added to the sanctuary building, with a final addition of a Fellowship Hall in 2002.

Through the years the door was never closed until the COVID pandemic in 2020 caused an almost 3 month pause in gathering on 95 Maple St. Even then, the little flock grew as sermons and bible study were live online, bringing the gospel to those who had previously been strangers. We thank God for blessing us in a new way and for making FBC Holt a lighthouse to this community through the decades. We have faith that God will continue to bring glory to His name as the little flock continues to serve Him.

Expanding the vision...

We pray that at the First Baptist Church of Holt the hearts of the members shine for the Lord. We strive to work together as a body of Christ to grow our desire to expand our knowledge and understanding of the word.

FBC Holt is a gathered body of baptized believers who pray to grow continually in the knowledge of God and grace of our Lord Jesus Christ by the power of His Holy Spirit living within us.

By knowing (biblically, relationally, spiritually) more of our Lord, we believe that we will grow in Christlikeness, therefore displaying (in word and deed) the light giving life of the glory of His gospel, which will awaken dead sinners to new life in Christ Jesus.
